If I have Shingles Disease Should I Handle Newborns?
The best thing to do if you have shingles disease is to stay away from newborns and children until your infection is all gone. Among other things, a baby's immune system is not developed enough to deal effectively with the disease. In addition, even though you are not contageous to someone that has had the chicken pox, if a baby is exposed to your rash or blisters, they can easily catch the disease.
